I have been playing Team Fortress 2 since beta, quit twice since then but always came back to the game. But when someone drops a bomb, we have the urge to tell the world. Verizon is a scummy company which is screwing with its customers at this point. While we are gamers at heart here at Ghacks, we usually do not write that much about gaming. Glad your issue is fixed, but realize she just bullshitted you. There is no "frequency" issue, its not a term used in IT for this kind of stuff, qos only matters if you are saturating your bandwidth with video and also want to have other things running as well, if its just games, these problems shouldn't happen, its like a freeway, if its empty, its empty.

Honestly its a retarded answer, either they have a policy of throttling everyone as low priority before they complain or its just a mess because the way she explained things doesn't make sense. Originally posted by Pucca:SOLVED!! YES!!! Thanks alot for everyones's input, it really helped pan everything out. Hope those that search for answers on Google get to this, it might help them. So yes, I'm back to the realms of TF2 after a insufferable week or so of raging like a 5 year old on Call of Duty. With a "point 2" frequency (I'm with Virgin Media, it might be called something else with your ISP), the packets that are sent proitorize (total spell fail) speed over quality (quality being HD for your Videos and shizz) thus, eliminating THESE BLOODY LAG MOTHER F. The lady on the phone said that the "normal frequency" is great for video streaming and what not but not for gaming as gaming hogs up alot of the little packets of internet you get through your router. When you call your Internet provider, they change the frequency to suit your needs better (like, gaming!). These "lag spikes" occur because of the frequency of your internet speed, ie it goes up and down. Okay, this has nothing to do with Valve, your PC, interference, NOTHING.Ĭall your ISP! Its about the frequency of your connection. P.S - If you find a solution/can help, please post it. Why? :(Ī frustrated super fan of Team Fortress 2

But why TF2? WHAY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME!!? I LOVED YOU. It makes Rome Total War 2, Crysis, Battlefield 4 and etc run like water. Defraged, Virus checked, thrown AVG out, done ♥♥♥♥ with the console commands. I have uninstalled both Steam and Team Fortress 2 (Roughly 5 times, I really loved the game) Unfortunatly, after alot of research the result is this - THERE IS NO FIX!!!!!! It seems to happen to quite a lot of players when I Googled the issue. But how can I when I get constantly frozen and become a sweet sweet target for the enemy? This is most frustrating. I just like winning a few gun fights, as do most gamers. Now, I'm not a competitive player, oh no. IT MADE YOU FREEZE, THUSLY MAKING THE ROCKET PLUG YOU, BOOM YOUR DE.NVM ANOTHER LAGSPIKE.

There you are, absolutely ravaging as a scout when suddenly boom, a rocket which you see and think "pah, I'll dodge that easy" becomes your ultimate death sentence. In this case, you're most positively dead.
#Two computers playing team fortress classic behind a router mod
This is when you're happily playing TF2 (And only this game, no other game has this effect on my 2014 Alienware X51) when suddenly your game goes into freeze mod for a duration between 1-2 seconds. I seem to have contracted a disease well known as "Lag spikes". Hello TF2'ers (Or TF2ians, Or TF2gans (Like Sandiagans))Īfter much dilberation, and many hours of playing the game (1200+ to be exact) I have decided to stop playing Team Fortress 2.
